Brothers Elie Cheaib and Jamil Cheaib with their friend George Ghrayeb are the founders of Adonis, a chain of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean supermarkets that are popular in Canada and the United States. Born in Lebanon, the trio immigrated to Canada in the 1970s and started working in the grocery business. Over time, they developed a deep knowledge of the foods and products that were popular in the Middle Eastern and Mediterranean communities, and they saw an opportunity to create a new kind of grocery store that catered specifically to these communities.
In 1985, they founded Adonis, and the first store opened its doors in Montreal, Quebec. Today, Adonis has expanded to include multiple locations across Canada and the United States, offering a wide range of products from the Middle East and Mediterranean regions, including fresh produce, meat, spices, and prepared foods.
Under the founders leadership, Adonis has become a leading destination for those seeking authentic and high-quality Middle Eastern and Mediterranean foods. It is known for his commitment to providing customers with the best possible shopping experience, and for his focus on quality and freshness.
